The Corvette name brings with it a certain set of expectations. We know the shape by heart, we expect power, a strong but lightweight body, a thrilling engine note, and more. Much more. It's a formula that's worked for going on seven decades, so you can forgive some folks their apprehension when Chevrolet decided to flip the script. Don't panic. The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette arrives soon at Gillman Chevrolet Buick GMC, better than ever.

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Details

The biggest change in the all-new Chevrolet Corvette is a switch to a mid-engine layout. Not only does this take dead aim at many European competitors, it also makes for a better car; paired with rear-wheel drive, it's more stable, with better handling and acceleration, than the old front-engine layout.

The sole engine on offer is a 6.2 liter V8 that backs its 490 horses with 470 lb.-ft. of torque (for those of you keeping track at home, that's 35 more horses than the C7 generation). We suggest pairing it with the Z51 package, which adds a performance exhaust and tacks on another five horsepower alongside its performance tires, upgraded brakes and suspension, and performance tires.

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Safety and Special Features

The new Chevy Corvette comes in three trim levels. The 1LT trim has eight-way power seats, pushbutton start, a Bose audio system, and a digital instrument cluster that can be customized by the driver. Stepping up in the trim levels adds ventilated seats, navigation, blind-spot monitoring, a heads-up display, and nicer leather for the interior - your Chevy dealer serving Brownsville will help you with these and other available options, including the Magnetic Ride Control suspension and a front-end lift system that prevents dings and scrapes on uneven ground.

Buying a 2020 Chevrolet Corvette

In a time when car companies are trying all sorts of design trickery to stand out, the Chevrolet Corvette is refreshingly back-to-basics. It looks sharp, to be sure, but it's a driver's car first and foremost. It's meant to impress from the driver's seat, and boy, does it deliver.
